Parents and students, We have completed our first round of socratic seminar. The classes did well discussing GMOs and designer babies. The deadline for summer packet is October 16th. No summer work will be collected after that. The write up for socratic seminar is due now and we are up to hw#7. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Engrade is up and current.

The school year has commenced! Engrade is up and running. Students are in the process of registering their accounts. Parents may make their own account with their own passwords and follow the student progress. Ask your child for the access code. This week we studied observations and inferences. We practiced the procedures and rules of the classroom.The summer project has been collected and grading will begin. Next week we will practice using smart response. We will take the genetics pre test and there will be a quiz on observations and inferences.

New Unit

Welcome back! It is a very busy time for science class. Extinct animal projects are due tomorrow Jan 7th. We are also working on collecting the data for the next project Battling Beaks. In addition we are preparing for our next socratic seminar! Whew. We are working very hard!

Parent teacher conferences

It was wonderful meeting with the parents today, as some of you requested I have placed a copy of the student book on pupil path. Students may use it to study and reinforce the lessons. I have also added an electronic copy of the summer packet to that project. All submissions for marking period one will be accepted until December 6.
